The Nike SB Dunk Low Trocadéro Gardens is another standout 2024 release with some unique details. This pair also made it to sales racks, which definitely influenced my decision to grab them.
A tribute to the 2024 Olympics, these draw inspiration from a famous public area in Paris, France with a prime view of the Eiffel Tower. The overlays reflect the colors of dawn over the Seine river, while the toe box and laces mirror the Trocadéro’s stone pathways. The marbled sole channels the artistry of Parisian street murals.
At first, I wasn’t sure about these just from the photos online. The exact colors are tricky to pin down in pictures. But after watching a few videos—and seeing the price drop—I figured they were worth a shot. In hand, the marble effect, sheen, and texture are really cool and give the shoe a unique look. Also, I love suede and nubuck when it has that soft feel. Glad the sale gave me that extra push to pick these up!
This pair comes from the Purple Box series and includes both a light brown pair of SB laces that matches the toe box and a pink set.
Materials
These feature a kind of weird upper as far as materials go. It kind of feels like leather all the way around, but the the toe box and collar have this suede look to them. So it’s either a really short haired suede or a textured leather. The pink panels, swoosh and forefoot overlay are a bit smoother of a leather. Overall, the materials feel solid—good quality and better than standard releases.
Fit & Comfort
Like a lot of SB Dunks, this pair fits a bit snug at true to size. The materials do have some flex, but I typically go up half a size for a more relaxed fit.
The Zoom Air cushioning isn’t super noticeable for daily wear, but it provides decent support for walking and standing. While not the softest underfoot, they’re comfortable enough to wear for a few hours without issue.
If these are sold out in skate shops or online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
